Mission Raceway – Tracktime 6 Racing
I experienced my first race day out at Mission Raceway, British Columbia. I took my Mustang so I could learn the basics of racing in a safe & controlled environment, as well as to check out all the different exotic sports cars that showed up!
There was one other Mustang – any many Porsche’s, Skylines, BMW’s and Mercedes Benz’s.. A 2010 Skyline GT-R and a Porsche Carerra GT were the highlights of the day! The Carerra lapped sounded like a jet and did laps around everyone..
Check out some of the pics from the day…

Underground Tours & Future of Flight (Seattle)
Due to Gareth heading back to Australia for good – we decided to go down and see the infamous underground tours of Seattle & check out the Boeing Factory (Future of Flight).. So what is the Seattle underground?
The underground is a network of passage ways and basements in downtown Seattle that was ground level at the city’s origin in the mid-1800s – in the early 1900’s some became illegal flophouses for the homeless, gambling halls, speakeasies, and opium dens.

PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) 2009 – Seattle
Heading to PAX 2009 this year was a completely unplanned event! To be honest I had forgotten about the Expo – and it was only due to sheer luck of doing a trip into Seattle with a mate that we managed to attend for the second time.
We found out that tickets were completely sold out online, so they never bothered to set up a booth to sell tickets at the door! However we were determined to get in, and there was a steady stream of people coming out of the expo; so we decided to buy a couple of passes from a group of young guys coming out – $10 each!! Nice.. so armed with tickets we headed in.
I managed to check out Diablo 3 despite the massive lines. The game looks and plays the same as the first; with improved graphics, enemies and new classes. The big difference from the previous series, is that the battles are much more gory and high in detail.

I managed to play the new Residential Evil 5; there are a number of new online modes: Slayers, Survivors, Team Slayers, Team Survivors and Versus.

Another cool feature of Residential Evil 5 was that I played the game in 3D!
This technology is called Anaglyph rendering – a company out of Vancouver BC is using the technology for gaming. It works much the same as those 3D movies – to make it work you need some Red-Cyan glasses (Red over the left eye, cyan over the right).

Some cool cos-play around the expo..

This Forza Motorsport 3 simulator was really something!! I’ve decided I need one for my place..

An awesome event and I wish I could have spent more time!!
Hopefully I’ll attend next year and give a more detailed review on more games.. If you have any questions – please feel free to ask!

Mustang Cruise Meet – Abbotsford B.C, Canada
Now that I own my own S197 Mustang in Canada, it was only fitting that I should attend a club meet! I left early Saturday morning on a 40 minute cruise out to Abbotsford; a beautiful sunny summers day. I eventually found the place after finding a couple of fellow Mustang lovers cruising down the highway – armed with my new Canon G10, I set out to take a few photos..
Some 66′ Mustang convertibles..

Next up is the Shelby GT500. The original GT500 was equipped with a 428 Police Interceptor, 2 Holley 4 barrel carbs, and headers as an option. A beautifully designed car; this one was decked out with a NOS bottle in the boot, with plenty of AMPs, race bucket seats, a roll cage and signed by Caroll Shelby on the dash.

A 2006 Shelby Mustang GT – I love the side pipes, side scoops, head light splitters & 20″ Boss rims!! Looks like I’ll have to start saving my loonies..

The photo below is of the legendary S302 Saleen.
In 2007, Saleen and American Racing Legend, Parnelli Jones, created a limited-edition version of the Mustang. Though often called the Saleen/Parnelli Jones S302, it was designed to pay homage to the legendary Boss 302 that Parnelli Jones had raced in back in the 70’s.
Equipped with a Saleen MOD 302 cid 3-valve V8, the S302 makes 400 hp (300 kW) and 390 lb·ft (529 N·m) of torque. On the outside, the S302 features a new front fascia, Saleen “Shaker” hood, window louvers, and custom Saleen/Parnelli Jones edition wheels. Production of this car was limited to only 500 cars.

Next is the 2010 Mustang GT. The 4.6 L V8 has been revised to specifications similar to that of the 2008-2009 Mustang Bullitt’s 4.6 L V8, resulting in 315 hp (235 kW) @ 6000 rpm and 325 lb·ft (441 N·m) of torque @ 4250 rpm.
Other mechanical features for the 2010 Mustang include new spring rates and dampers to improve ride quality and control, standard traction control system and stability control system on all models, and new wheel sizes.

An awesome day, with some awesome cars.. Till next time, take it easy!
